Odds of winning shall be determined by the number of ballot entries received. There will be one contest winner per quarter, which be randomly drawn from ballots received during the period specified below, starting from the start dates midnight (EST) to the draw cut-off dates at 11:59 pm. (EST)
Only ballots submitted from the Start Date to the Cut-Off Date of each quarter will be entered for the quarter Draw Date. Original completed entry forms must be received by the Global RESP Corporation (GRESP) Head Office at 100 Mural Street, Richmond Hill, ON L4B 1J3, no later than 11:59 pm (EST) on the cut-off date indicated on the ballot. Ballots may also be submitted from the contest page on the globaresp.com website.
The draw will be held on or before the specified draw date (herein), at the GETF Head Office or such other location as Global deems appropriate. The contest is open to Canadian residents (excluding Quebec) who are 18 years of age or older. To qualify for the draw prize, the child must be 15* years old or younger at time of entry. There is no cost to enter the contest. Ballots are only eligible for the specified contest period. Any ballots that are not received by cut-off date will be disqualified. Only one ballot per household is eligible. No facsimile will be accepted.
Each of the four (4) individual prizes is an Education Savings Plan from GETF that when registered as a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP), allows tax-deferred growth for funding a child’s post-secondary education. When the child commences eligible studies, the earnings in the RESP can be used to pay for tuition and other related expenses.
Education Savings Plans from Global are eligible for registration under section 146.1 of the Income Tax Act. Registering the plans is subject to meeting any and all age, residency, Social Insurance Number provisions and other requirements of the Act.
GETF is the sponsor and promoter of the Education Savings Plans, and will pay the entire cost of enrolling the child on behalf of the winning entrant (the subscriber).
The prize is based on $1,700 invested in an Education Savings Plan with an expected 18-year maturity value of approximately $5,000. You may also be eligible to receive CLB and Provincial Grants in your RESP account.
The sum below includes a $340 CESG assuming a 3.0%, 4.0% and 5.0% annual rate of return**:
Prize is awarded in the form of units in an Education Savings Plan from GETF, and must be maintained for at least three (3) years or until the child attends post-secondary education, whichever comes first. No cash or other substitute for the prize is awarded in this contest. The Education Savings Plan will be put into effect 60 days after the Draw Day.
The winner will be notified by telephone, mail or e-mail.
All Global RESP Corporation (GRESP), its subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, representatives and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate in this contest.
The contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws. The contest is void where prohibited.
The winner must correctly answer a skill-testing question and accept the prize within 10 business days of being first contacted. The entrant must abide by the contest rules. Otherwise the entrant will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be randomly selected from the remaining ballots. Any decision from the contest judges will be final.
The winner agrees that GETF, its subsidiaries, and/or affiliates, can use the name and/or likeness of the winner and/or the child in future promotional materials.
Should the child already have maximum, or near maximum amounts permitted for contributions by Canada Revenue Agency to a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP), GETF will arrange to distribute the prize as contributions to maximize effectiveness within government guidelines.
Any litigation regarding the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the provincial gaming commission for a ruling. Any litigation regarding the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the provincial gaming commission only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.* The funds ($1,700) have to be deposited into the plan and the plan registered by December 31 of the year the beneficiary turns 15 in order to qualify for Grants 16/17.
